Responsibilities: • Drive excellence in environmental performance across region with numerous facilities in various states and provinces. • Effectively implement Georgia-Pacific?s 7-element environmental management system. • Integrate environmental compliance and management systems into manufacturing operations. • Champion Market-Based Management and Operations Excellence (OpEx) by showing employees how their actions connect to our environmental vision and create long-term value .• Participate in strategic planning process, track metrics to incent positive, proactive behaviors, support management of environmental talent positions across the region, and identify emerging issues. Reports to divisional-level environmental leader and manufacturing regional manager. • Direct reports are facility-level environmental leaders at multiple facilities in numerous states and provinces. Qualifications: 10 to 15 years of successful environmental compliance (with air emphasis) and management system experience. • Organized with strong verbal and written communication skills especially with regulators, manufacturing staff, other OpEx capability leaders and management. • Good knowledge of major technical/regulatory requirements affecting region. • Understanding of environmental management systems and how to deploy them at the facility and regional-level. • Must have proven track record of leading, managing and mentoring subordinates, peers, and supervisors. • Ability to succeed in matrix management system and able to embrace change, drive continuous improvement, and effectively balance multiple priorities.
