Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare project plans and schedules for all assigned projects.
• Review the customer’s application and make suggestions and recommendations for the appropriate size and style of conveyor required. This may include an estimate of the engineering time required to develop the appropriate design.
• Using SolidWorks design software, complete the accurate and timely design, layout, bills of materials, and drawings for all large pitch conveyor products.
• Develop new product lines or innovations in existing product lines which add value. Perform cost analysis where appropriate.
• Act as a technical resource to customers and all other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for project evaluation, design, and implementation. Travel will be limited and on an as needed basis.

Skills:

• Ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in engineering and five to seven years of related design experience with large pitch conveyors or other large machinery, or an associate’s degree and seven to ten years related experience.
• At least 2 years SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software experience required.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer specifications, blueprints, drawings, Bills of Material, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, project plans, ECNs/ECRs, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and other employees of the organization.
